Yesterday (21-3-2013) I received my App submission feedback.
Unfortunaltely Apple was unable to post this version. The reason was lack of functionality, or as put in the reviewer’s words:
We found that your app only provides a very limited set of features. It only plays a sound when a photo is tapped. While we value simplicity, we consider simplicity to be uncomplicated – not limited in features and functionality.
Maybe the reviewer did not overlook all functions such as the resizing feature on Ducky, moving Ducky and shaking Ducky and the instruments. Ducky Kids also has a drawing feature on board.
The time from “In review” to “reviewed” was about 25 minutes, which should be enough to explore the complete app. But I realize that not only the app features are reviewed. Also all supplied icons, screenshots, ratings etc are under review. Hopefully that was all OK, I actually don’t know.
Ducky Kids is like a luxury rattle toy. And yes, the principle of “Keep it simple” was applied to the design, knowing the targeted group of users: the youngest iPhone users out there.
I was able to submit extra comments to the App Review Board, which I did. Now I’m awaiting the next response and hopefully I’m able to pass the complete chain for this first iOS app I made and hope for many more apps of my hand to follow!
